Seriously though, I don't expect this to suddenly vault us into Playoff contention, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to invest my Sunday (or Monday) in this team.

Not playoff contention but it should make us competitive again. At least I hope so.

Well sure, we're likely 2-2 if our QB had a pulse.

Congrats, and best of luck Mitch.

Everyone else, please temper expectations. Let the kid have some time to grow. Mistakes will be a part of this process.

My expectations are pretty reasonable. I only ask that he's better than Aaron Rodgers.

Now are there any WRs we can sign that can actually catch a pass?

He still has minimal talent on the outside to throw to, I am not expecting the offense to start putting up 40 a game or anything . but hopefully he will start finding the TEs, push the ball down the field at least somewhat, use his legs to escape pressure and ideally that will be enough to open up the running game some more.

We will see how he does, but it is good to see him on the field and hopefully we will see growth as the season moves on and some better WRs next season

Good news. It was def time.

not expecting Trubisky to be the savior this year but I would shocked if he doesn't outperform Glennon...It will be nice to see some quickness and athleticism at the position.

like others have said, the kid has zero options to throw too so that keep that in mind in any eval of the kid. Just don't be awful this year and stay healthy and I will be happy.

If one thing this makes this team watchable for the rest of the year...

Let him play and make the rookie mistakes this year then hopefully these bozos can bring in talent around him so next season we have a chance. Hopefully everyone has patience and reasonable expections, knowing this kid is going to make mistakes. I just hope the game plan changes to the point they let the kid try and make some plays and we see flashes.
