Based on these articles, doesn't seem likely. It seems like we brought in too many FA's to qualify and Alshon only signed a 1 year deal for a relatively low AAV. Kinda funny that the Cardinals will probably get a late comp pick for Marcus Cooper though... and are probably getting a pick in each round from 3-6.

Yea. That's what i looked at B4 i asked and saw we didn't get any love.

IDK though. Loosing alshon sucked...... I figure we brought in Prince who was our only good signing. But i have never understood how that hole proccess worked.

The way I read it is that if you still spend enough to recoup the loss from the player(s) that left, then you don't qualify for a comp pick. It's weird that they don't make the formula public though.

I would figure it would also have something to do with quality of players lost. If we lost alshon and resigned a ton of bench players for the same money he cost. We still get nothing???? It makes little sense to me.

I honestly think we might trade Howard and get a more versatile back to pair with Cohen. It would not surprise me at all.

I was thinking they would look for a big, punishing style back to compliment Howard and Cohen.

Barkley would be so outstanding in the type of more spread scheme I think we're about to run.... and he's probably the only potential back I'd consider a real upgrade from Howard... but I just don't see how we get return value out of the deal.... even if you get a 3rd for Howard (Which seems like a bit much)...... Is replacing Howard with Barkley really worth dropping from a 1st rounder to a 3rd rounder on your draft pick? You're really banking on Barkley's ability to catch and breakaway speed being that significant a factor to justify the massive drop off between a round 1 and round 3 edge/OL/Corner/WR

The one name I think might get looks from us however (not necessarily as a RB), is DeAnthony Thomas.... Experience under both Helfrich and Nagy..... super cheap hybrid WR/RB/KR..... with fairly stupid amounts of speed.

Trent Richardson got a damn 1st rounder. Granted, the Colts have been a mess for a long time now, but Id imagine Howard could net more than a 3rd.

I would be interested in a Howard/Cooper trade.

I am not really interested in creating new holes (losing Howard) to fill existing holes (like WR), though.

Don't think so. He's just an above average, durable back.
