Don't be surprised if Petricka and Putnam come back on minor league deals.

I wouldn't call a 157 innings in 27 starts an innings eater eater...but i get your point a veteran was needed....

    Great sign.

    Shields
    Miggy
    Giolito
    Lopez
    Fulmer

    Hopefully the season ends with:

    Rodon
    Kopech
    Giolito
    Lopez
    Fulmer

I am not going to bet on it, but it would be so awesome if Fulmer figures it out and he becomes a good 5th starter.

Im not sure if you placed the 5 in order of the rotation to start the year? But my would be:
    Lopez
    Giolito
    Miggy
    Fulmer
    Shields

I am very high on Lopez!

I also don't think Hanson is very far behind Kopech as far as arrival time....

    .

I think it more likely we end the season with

    Giolito
    Lopez
    Kopech
    Hansen
    Dunning

On another subject, now that Bruce has signed for $13 million a year, how pissed is Moustakas going to be if he has to sign for less than the qualifying offer of $17.4 he already turned down?

Covey is a bum, my guess is he gets DFA'd after training camp. Maybe he goes to AAA if he shows anything.

Rodon in the rotation would obviously make a huge difference. I wish we had a better idea about how he is throwing (to the extent that he is) and in particular, if the issues he was having were resolved by the surgery and when we might expect to get a better idea about that. Is he going to start pitching in games during Spring Training or just side sessions and long toss ?

I feel like we should be in the bidding for Seung-Hwang Oh. If the price isn't crazy high, you take a short term risk on him and if he gets back to 2016 form, you trade him mid season. Seems like a low risk high reward deal and I'm sure we have the money.
