Just heard on 670 that the sox are working on trade with dodgers...not a lot of details. Just something to look at. Maybe a Matt Kemp salary dump

Having dealt and acquired a whole host of relievers in 2017, the White Sox will now secure two experienced hurlers to bolster an unproven unit and perhaps also provide the organization with some new trade chips. The right-handed Soria rang up 10.3 K/9 and allowed only a single home run in his 56 innings in 2017, ending the year with a 3.70 ERA. He could now be the favorite to step into the White Sox’ closer role. As for Avilan, a 28-year-old southpaw, he managed a 2.93 ERA in his 46 frames while carrying 10.2 K/9, 4.3 BB/9, and a 53.8% groundball rate.

White Sox should use prospects to get Yelich
Marlins CF could be perfect fit for South Siders while setting example for young teammates
The final package could look like this: Giolito (or Anderson), Cease, Rutherford and Collins.

WE CAN NOT JUST RELY ON OUR GREAT PROSPECTS TO ALL MAKE IT AND BRING US A CHAMPIONSHIP...WE NEED TO USE SOME TO GET PROVEN TALENT..THEN SIGN A COUPLE OF FA's

I think the Sox have to further evaluate what they have with Eloy Jiminez, Luis Robert as well as some other lesser outfield prospects before they make any move like that. While I am not yet convinced 2018 will be or should be a total tank year, it seems obvious that 2018 is not the year the Sox should shed prospects for a final piece of the puzzle in order to make a run for the WS.

Agree 100% with GP. We first need a few of these guys to blossom into all star type players before we start trading for established players. Our pitching is a complete crapshoot right now, hopefully 3 of our current top 10 prospect pitchers pan out into starting pitchers for us. That’s all you can expect, and if we trade 2 of them for yelich, it just doesn’t make sense now.

Just too risky at this point for our team. Next year will be a different story as we should know a lot more of what we have, as 6-7 of our top prospects should see over 100 games, including moncada, giolitto, Lopez and fulmer in that total. Kopech and Eloy should be up after 2 months.
