I see the shotgun as one of the reasons why McCoy has struggled so much. Either way I agree. The run game should feed off of the pass rather than the opposite.

Yeah that's the catch 22. When he is in shotgun, Denver knew he would pass. When he lined up under center, they knew a run was coming. McDermott needs to pass under center a couple times if he could and hand off in shotgun so he is not tipping his hand completely. Tyrod definitely needs to be in shotgun to succeed behind this line. Pro football focus ranked Tyrod and the Bills, the 31st worst team in the league, with time to throw after hike.
