    Has Seattle's window closed ?

Watching the game yesterday it was hard to believe it was the same Sehawks team that the league feared playing only a season ago.

Their run defense gave up 100 yards in the first half alone to Carlos Hyde. Of course their pass defense was flawless but lets not forget that it was against a Brian Hoyer led 49ers team.

The real struggle came on the offensive side of the ball. While Carson ended up with a decent stat line, a good chunk of those yards came in garbage time. They dominated time of possession and still managed only 12 points. Russel Wilson was constantly pressured all game long thanks to his putrid o-line and when he finally did have time to throw it, his inexperienced wide outs dropped easy catches.

Naively, I picked Seattle to go 12-4 this season and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. After watching last weeks game against the Packers and this weeks near loss to a far inferior 49ers team, I'm just not sure.

Do you feel as if Seattle's window has closed or will they right the ship ?

Their window has been closing since Wilson signed his big contract and they didn't compensate by hitting on draft picks.

Without a top run game and defense, they are in trouble. Wilson is not in the elite camp of being able to carry a team.

Carson, trust me, even if you turn out to be a really bad QB, BDawk4Prez will always defend you on PSD.

Their window has not closed. There isn't a dominant team in the NFC. The Falcons are 2-0, but struggled with Chicago. Green Bay and Dallas just got murdered. The Cardinals have been very bad, and the Panthers didn't look good at all against the Bills.

And Carson didn't pick up those yards in garbage time. He picked up those yards up 3 points with the 49ers knowing they were going to run the ball. If he doesn't pick up those first downs, the 49ers get the ball back with a chance to tie or win.

It's closed until Wilson shows he can be a competent QB again. His play has been nothing short of embarrassing this year.

What did Seattle would expect to their offense when they lost Lynch, consistently not paid for any OLine, and traded Kearse to start the season?

They simply haven't done anything to help out Russell Wilson, and he simply can't carry that offense by himself.

This, Russell can help the o-line only so much. I understand taking advantage of his legs and going a little light on the o-line, but they've completely ignored it.

I don't think the window is completely closed but the dominant window of them being favorites will likely be closed for a couple years why they re-tool a bit.

This. Not to mention, Wilson plays behind some of the worst pass protection in the league.

The lack of a run game and poor pass protection have been bigger problems for the offense than anything Wilson has or hasn't done.

That's also true. It's very similar to Luck in Indy right now.

This is probably true. It's not totally closed yet though. They still have a very good defense and play in a weak division so they will at least make the playoffs and get a home game in the first round. If they can get hot at the right time offensively they'll have a shot.

They do still have a top defense. With a weak division, that at least gets them to the playoffs.

Their window closed two years ago. Not saying they can't win a SB, but they'd need way too many miracles rather than just owning the teams they play like they did pre-2015.

They've ignored the OL, blown trades for 1st round picks, and have aged a bit and lost depth on defense. The defense is still strong, but the offense is pitiful. When you barely scrape by the 49ers in Seattle you know there's problems. I'm sure they'll win their garbage division and have tons of hype when they're 10-6 and beat the bad WC team they play, but they're not the team that's going to knock of the best of the NFC.

No. They have flaws and aren't the super bowl favorite but they're still an upper tier team and could conceivably win a SB.

Definitely not upper tier. Unless upper tier is 6 or 7 NFC teams deep.
