Carlos is a metal midget. If a few things start going wrong....the guy loses it. And why can't he throw the ball home? That has happened at least 3 or 4 times this year in a pivotal part of the game.

Stick a fork in this team. Now 1-7 @ wrigley. The normal....nothing offense has showed its face for.the past 4 games or so....back to the norm.

It's hard to be optimistic at this point.

The NL central has always been a pipe dream. Not saying we'll get a WC spot, but if we make the playoffs, that's how it'll happen

And Molina hits into another double play with bases loaded. Molina as a #5 hitter is brutal.

You guys made a worthy foe. Couple quick questions:

-Think you have a legitimate chance at re-signing Lance Lynn?

-Since Alex Reyes had his TJ surgery early in spring training he should be ready for Spring Training next year. You expecting him to start in the rotation from the get go. Or go from the bullpen to the rotation to limit his total innings. Or maybe even start the first month or so in the minors.

-If Lance Lynn isn't brought back could St Louis make a run at bringing in Arrieta? The vast majority of Mike Leake's contract was dealt away, so that certainly opens up payroll flexibility.

Lynn is most likely gone. I wouldn't sign Arrieta and I'm sure Reyes will be on an innings limit...

My guess is Lynn is gone. I'd like him back but i'm not sure the front office wants to spend money on the rotation. We basically have our 1-4 in the rotation set for the next 3 or 4 years (baring injury, trades, etc).

    2018 rotation will be

    Martinez
    Weaver
    Flaherty
Reyes (would bump up to #2 by 2019)
    Wacha

with Waino, Hudson, Gant, or Alcantara ready to step in if needed.

And i can almost promise you they wont get Arrieta. If they are going to spend big bucks on a pitcher, they'll go with Lynn as they are comfortable with him and he'll cost less.

I would guess this team is WAY different in 2018. our OF depth is insane.

The team better be different next year. If the front office expects to win these same players, pass me what their smoking. A big bat is the 1st need. Next would be a pitcher. This team does not have a ace #1. Then a closer. And the outfield depth. But, really how good is it ? I'd take quality over quantity any day of the week. I'd say go trade whatever to go see if you could get Stanton. A pitcher like Verlander would be nice. And see if the Cubs resign Davis...if they don't sign him.
