When we were competing for PO spots the past 6 years the younger guys never had a chance to play. Now that the season is (has been for a looooong time) lost, here's the chance to give those guys playing time. Maybe someone will get hot enough to garner interest for an offseason trade or some ****. We've really got nothing to lose, and there's really nothing to prove with Sandoval.
He's not really blocking anyone at the moment though. Arroyo's still injured and Ryder Jones has been playing first.

I'd start Tomlinson every game. He's no savior but he's sure been better than Pablo. Maybe they start Pablo then bring in Tomlinson for late defense? But then who cares about late inning defense at this point? Sandoval sucks and the season is lost. Bring on the young guys.

Nobody in the minors was beating down the door to get regular playing time. No options we have or had were good. I think they just don't want a young guy to come up and struggle. They see more value in letting a vet they don't have future plans for other than being a bench option struggling than one of the younger guys.

If Pablo is still our starting 3B next year I'll eat my words, I just don't see it happening.

Good strategy there. Down 2, get a guy on base, bring in auto-out Sandoval to PH. Bochy could have pinch hit himself and got the same result. Then PH for Tomlinson, who had a bit of a hot bat, and put in Parker who you just know will either K or ground out.

Not a meaningful game by any stretch, but would be nice to win a Kershaw start.

    Sandoval - .181/.232/.267

How the **** has this guy earned a right to even play never mind start??

Meanwhile in Minnesota... Adrianza - .273/.335/.388

What's the record for most 3-up/3-down innings in a season? Giants gotta be close at least...

Dodgers take 2 of 3 but not sure if they're back on track or not. Seems this last game (3) should have been a blowout the way things started.

I still think they're trouble in the playoffs though, and looking like the Cubs are the team to be wary of, as they're playing well now. Not sure if Nats get Harper back in time or not, but Dusty seems to have a knack for blowing playoff series anyway.

We're playing Washington for three games without Kershaw pitching. So it'll be a miracle just to win one game over there.
