Question Akiem Hicks Signs 4 Year 48 Million Extension

    Hicks

    4-48 with 30 million guaranteed.

Even with no further improvement off last year, still a solid signing.

Glad we are using some of our extra cap space to lock guys up now. We are in great cap position for next year as well. Looks like 30 million in free space now. I would guess McPhee, Glennon, and Sitton could be gone next year which would put us near 60 million in space plus whatever carryover we end up with. Really excited for next year.

Not gonna lie. 12 mil per seems high for him. It woukd put him at the 4th highest paid 3-4 end. Or. If you include DT. 13th highest paid interior linemen.

That said. He is currently one of the best and favorite bears. Hes one od the few who seem confortable in front of a mike and seems to be a leader along the front. Glad to see him locked up. He is a funny and likeable guy off the field. And seems to be a tough and hard nosed player on it.

The 2 and a half year guarintee is nice as well. Typical pace.

That's a lotta dough, but he is productive. We should have some serious funds for FA's next offseason before we draft 7 D-lll guys in the draft. 😑

GTD money is the only thing of importance. 30 mil over 4 years? That's popcorn in today's NFL for a player like Hicks. The cap will continue to rise and players of his caliber are going to get paid. It's a great deal for both sides, IMO.

It's basically the same deal the Steelers just signed Tuitt to, minus 1 year. More than fair for a player like Hicks, who we should have through the rest of his prime years.

We'd be in much better shape had Pace not reached for these scrubs from those unknown D-III schools like West Virginia (twice), Florida State, Oregon, Michigan State, Penn State, TCU, Georgia, Kansas State, Florida, Miami, Indiana, North Carolina, or Alabama.

Take a joke once in awhile Goat

It was so refreshing to see a recently paid athlete show up in a performance like that after signing a big contract. We're used to seeing them taper off or become average.

First rule of jokes: be funny.

You've been a broken record on the topic since the draft, so forgive me if I don't believe you.

I think you need to learn a little bit about humility. I'm wrong a lot, but that isn't going to stop me from poking fun at others when they make stupid and unfunny posts.

If you're bothered by it, then put me on your Ignore List. The feature is there for a reason.
