Walter Becker os Steely Dan dies at 67

Damn. One of my favorite bands. This guy was a guitar player's, guitar player. He had such an identifiable style, as many of the famous one's do but he is somehow a little overlooked in the conversation of the greats.
Steely Dan lasted over 5 decades.

My freshman year in college, a senior friend told me were listing to some Steely Dan and said, "Here's and important lesson, the Dan will never let you down". He was right.

I had a friend in college who would cry himself to sleep listening to Steely Dan. Was pretty pathetic.

    Hahahaha

How the **** do you cry to steely dan? They are hysterical. The only remotely sad songs I can think are Rikki and maybe dirty work?

Not to many people from my generation are on this forum. They were a shinning light during that heinous disco music period.

what kind of music would Steely Dan be classified as? I am not very familiar with them, I always associated them with southern rock, of which I generally can't stand.

I wouldn't refer to them as southern rock.

I loved 'em and still do. Had all their LP's, then discs. Brilliant studio musicians.
