New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers Sept. 8, 9, 10. IGT

New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers
Friday, September 8, 8:05 PM ET , Globe Life Park in Arlington

    Masahiro Tanaka, RHP

Tanaka is trying for his fourth consecutive win, having logged victories over the Tigers, Mariners and Red Sox since returning from a stint on the DL. He has posted a 2.14 ERA over that span, striking out 17 in 21 innings.

    Martin Perez, LHP

Perez has struggled at home this season. He owns a 5.42 ERA in 16 home starts, but he found some success in his last start against the Angels. He allowed three earned runs over six innings, and he hopes to have a repeat effort against the Yankees.

New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers
Saturday, September 9, 1:05 PM ET , Globe Life Park in Arlington

    Luis Severino, RHP

Severino hurled a gem in his last start, holding the Red Sox to an unearned run and two hits over six innings in a 9-2 win at Yankee Stadium. Severino walked none and struck out nine in the 87-pitch effort. He lost his only career start vs. Texas.

    Andrew Cashner, RHP

Cashner continued his bounce-back season with an impressive win against the Braves. He allowed two earned runs, as his two-seam fastball registered 14 called strikes. Since July 5, Cashner has given up 19 earned runs in 65 1/3 innings.

I agree, a real pitchers duel. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended 1-0. Although TBA has worked hard of late, not as hard as "player to be named", but nonetheless his arm may be sore.

    Game 1 should be a win, Game 2 is a toss-up.

Hopefully TBA can go deeper this time around than he did last time.
We’re pointing out that these statistics breed false narratives, and we value the truth. This isn’t about replacing old numbers with new numbers, or attempting to dissuade anyone from enjoying the aesthetics of the game. It is simply about telling the average fan about the reality of what actually happened on the field. The “Holy Trinity” of baseball statistics fail at this most basic task, and so they are not worth deifying any longer. - Dave Cameron

Game 3 is Sabathia's regular start, but he's having regular maintenance on his knee today, so he probably won't pitch. They say the maintenance isn't serious. It involves shooting a needle into the knee.

They may be removing fluid. Just a guess.

CC now slated to start Monday at ****** field.

Kidding about ****** field. Citi field is very nice, way more family friendly compared to Yankees stadium.
