    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...passe-contract

The Oakland Raiders and placekicker Sebastian Janikowski, who has played more games with the team than any player in franchise history (268), are in a contractual standoff that could dictate whether or not the two sides spend this season together.

Oakland has asked Janikowski, 39, to rework his contract, which calls for him to make $4 million this season, per a source familiar with the situation. Janikowski so far has declined.

The issue could be resolved as soon as Tuesday, with Janikowski accepting a reworked deal or with Oakland moving on to a new kicker.

But I thought he had agreed to a contract? You know, like Penn. Or does that not go both ways for you guys?

If Sebastian Janikowski remains on Raiders' roster by 4 pm EST Tuesday, as @FieldYates notes, his $4M deal becomes guaranteed. Tues showdown

100% correct, can't have it both ways. And congrats on the amazing comeback last night.

Need extra cash to pay Penn, how ironic would that be?

Apparently the Raiders have over ten mil in cap space.https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/oakland-raiders/
So why is Red trying to shake down the kicker?

Why not? That's the power that the NFLPA have the owners the last time the two sides negotiated.

Is it right? No. But that's just the way it is.

I read that there are concerns with Jano's back.
