Calvin Pryor is a liability in coverage. The Raiders don't need that.

Role with what you have and hope you can stay afloat.

Raiders re-signed DE Max Valles to practice squad. A procedural move. He was released Friday to make room for K Giorgio Tavecchio.

Giogio Tavecchio joins Sebastian Janikowski (2011) as the only Raiders kickers to win a Special Teams Player of the Week Award in Week 1

The kid earned it big time. He's got a feel good story for his grandkids for sure.

Considering that he just couldn't hook up with a team for all those years. It's nice he got a chance. Hope he has many great moments in his future.

I agree. I am wondering what his max distance in normal conditions are.

All I know, if Tavecchio's last weekend was a sign of his career to come, he should be a reliable replacement for Jano.

With our O as long as he's clear about his range in each game situation we will always be able to line him up. It's the clutch consistency that's more important. Ultimately it's a kicker so you ideally don't waste high draft picks on it, pay high wages nor get too enamoured with one kid. We should be still looking around in case he hits a nasty patch. It happens to kickers a lot

I get the sense that Trevechio is not like Aguayo but who the hell knows...
