Stretch provision was used on Hawes. Were under the luxury tax now.

With Hawes stretched. Curious if Jet is back in the fold for the little money we save to get under the tax. Maybe one of them camp guys make the team? Maybe Payton II waived yet? Little wiggle room yet.

Move would put Bucks under the tax with enough space to sign a player to the vet minimum. Maybe they'd bring back Jason Terry?

SEPTEMBER 1, 10:45am: The Bucks are now in the mix for Cunningham as well, per Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News (Twitter link). Milwaukee is in the market for an inexpensive big man with some range after waiving Spencer Hawes.

With Spencer Hawes‘ contract waived and stretched, the Bucks are once again below the tax line and have a little added flexibility to sign a player or two. According to Gery Woelfel of The Racine Journal Times (Twitter link), a new deal to bring back free agent guard Jason Terry may be the next move for Milwaukee.
Woelfel has written about Terry’s free agency a couple times since the offseason begins, having noted back in June that the veteran had interest in re-signing with the Bucks. In July, Woelfel reported that Terry had received interest from other NBA teams, including a Western Conference club that made him a contract offer. However, a return to Milwaukee still may be in the cards.

Terry, who will turn 40 in two weeks, joined the Bucks for the 2016/17 season and was a solid part-time contributor for the club, averaging 4.1 PPG and 1.3 APG with a .427 3PT%. Terry’s veteran leadership and championship experience also make him appealing to team like the Bucks, whose core players are fairly young.
With Hawes no longer on the roster, the Bucks have 13 guaranteed contracts that total approximately $115.3MM. The tax line is at $119.266MM, so if Milwaukee signs Terry to a minimum salary deal and carries one more player on a minimum contract, the club would remain below that threshold.

Just them quoting Woelfel about a possibility Jet is back. Since we got a extra roster spot with Hawes waived and stretch provision. Plus we have unguaranteed Payton II yet which could be waived. Unless we do something lame like trade Vaughn for a future second round pick.

Not sure what the hold up is. We don't have much to offer other then vet minimum or little bit more. Isn't like were discussing a super max contract that takes agents weeks or months to talk about.

Lol! They are probably trying to sign another guy along his signing or working on a trade which involves how all the contracting comes together.

Possibly. My guess Hawes roster spot is Jets. Then we think about waiving unguaranteed Payton II. Then use his spot for a camp body we brought in like Burkes or Jones III or Cunningham. Or unless we got some trade. I wouldn't mind trading Delly to Cavs for Shumpert. Then sign Burkes to compete with Brown for back up minutes. Even though I think Brogdon will get like 30 + minutes at PG.

Kind of a nothing article with not a ton of substance. Basically mentions that Parker was brought up as a piece in a possible 3-team trade to move Melo (we would not be targeting Melo but would be getting players back for whomever he gets traded to). Also mentions that to move Parker we would also be moving either Henson/Monroe (I can't envision moving Monroe in any sort of deal like this). Not sure who the 3rd team would be but assuming Houston they don't really have much to offer us in return. If the trade would be to say Phoenix or Cleveland I could see the Bucks targeting Bledsoe or possibly K-Love?

Per ESPN, Bucks had discussions about being 3rd team in Knicks/Rockets Melo trade, included Jabari in trade talks.

I bet the Knicks asked about Parker. We probably just offered up our junk of Delly and Henson for Anderson. I know there was reports last trade deadline we dangled injured Parker for a win now piece. But never gained traction. Only way Bucks trade Parker is if his agent is demanding a crazy price like 5/$125M. Bucks wouldn't be in this boat if we didn't over pay Henson or Delly or Telly. Beside new contract in Snell. Also stretch provision's piling up with Hawes and Sanders yet.
