    Justin Wilson woes......

Justin Wilson.............is it possible that playing on a bigger stage is causing him to choke? Playing in front of a very loud crowd. Playing in meaningful games. Playing in front of 39 plus thousand fans instead of 29 plus thousand fans. Playing for the WS champions trying to defend their title is about as big a stage as it get. To me he looks like a nervous wreck out there.

It's possible that he has some big stage-it is. He was pitching in low pressure situation in Detroit and not really paid much attention to. That excuse won't last very long he's going to have to start being what he was in Detroit and I fully expect him to.

He pitched pretty well for the Yankees a few years back.

I put zero stock in the "bigger stage" theory. The guy's been in MLB for awhile now. He's pitched in plenty of loud ballparks, and in plenty of big games.

He's struggling with his command, I trust he hasn't just fallen off a cliff for no reason. No reason to think he won't get on track yet, hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

It could very well be from being under the teaching of a new Pitching Coach while trying to adjust on the fly in a playoff race nonetheless.

Def not ready to write him off though.

You're used to not giving up on crappy players though, hence your fantasy squad.

I've written him off already . You didn't know that some players choke when in pressure situations in a postseason race he hasn't felt with his former team. At least we got Avila which softens the blow considerably, from the team standpoint

I just wish Theo had acquired an actual lefty specialist at the trade deadline. Wilson's cutter has made him more effective versus righty hitters than lefties during his career. So come October, versus the Nats, Wilson isn't the guy you want facing Harper and Murphy in a key late inning spot (even if he regains his Detroit form).

He has slight platoon splits but his numbers against LHB have been nothing to scoff at
