This will be a fun weekend. On Friday, Kylian Mbappe and Monaco host Toulouse which marks the start of the season in France. Two time European Champions Nottingham Forest welcome newly promoted Millwall to The City Ground. Along with that match, newly relegated Sunderland host Derby marking the start of the second-tier football season in England.

    From yesterday...

Nottingham Forest beat Millwall in their opener. Interestingly enough, after reading some post-match reports, it was newly promoted Millwall who were the better side and had their changes to not only equalizer, but win the match. Derby County just nearly held on to a 1-1 draw against newly relegated side Sunderland. Over in the in French first division reining champions Monaco came back and beat Toulouse 3-2. The big news from that match was Kylian Mbappe limped off injured, but their manager said he should be back in a matter of days.

EPL: Chelsea down 0-3 at the half at home against Burnley. Inauspicious start for the 2016 champions.

Man U is starting out on fire. Didn't like the Lukaku signing at the beginning but he's looked totally different for the Red Devils.

Teams have roughly two more days to strike a deal or two and I'm sure we'll see plenty. Here's some noteworthy signing that have gone through over the last week...

8/22: Wesley Hoedt: Lazio -> Southampton (€16.4m) ... With VvD refusing to train, the Saints needed another CB.
8/23: Davinson Sanchez: Ajax -> Spurs (€40m) ... Prefect fit at Spurs. Great at playing from the back
8/23: Sam Clucas - Hull City -> Swansea (€16.3m) ... Had a strong debut in a Swans shirt this past weekend.
8/25: Robert Snodgrass - West Ham -> Aston Villa (Loan) ... Very surprised at this one.
8/25: Oliver Burke - Leipzig -> West Brom (€15.2m) ... Young winger who loves the ball at his feet.
8/27: Robert Green - Leeds -> Huddersfield (Free) ... The former England no. 1 is back in the EPL
8/29: Kevin Wimmer - Spurs -> Stoke City (€19.4m) ... Wimmer was stuck on the bench at Spurs. He should get some minutes at the Britannia which is important during a World Cup year.
