Nurkic > Whiteside..... simply for the fact that he's way younger and a better passer. They can also better control his next contract since he will be a restricted free agent. With Whiteside they could be trading for a 1yr rental (if he opts out) and a headcase disgruntled player who wants touches.
There's a good good chance they lose Nurkic if he gets any kind of decent offer. Also, they do have some issues with him. There is absolutely no way Whiteside is going to opt out of his last year.

Dragic (~18 million next 2 years)

Whiteside (25 million for 2 next years)

    Tyler Johnson (19 & 20 million next 2 years)

    for

Carmelo Anthony (expiring 28 million contract) - makes us a big player in free agency next year

Steven Adams (23 million for next 3 years)

Andre Roberson (9million for next 2 years) - interesting project for Spo

Maybe we can get a draft pick from the also in this trade

By "decent offer" you really think he gets $25M like Whiteside will be making?

I'd say little to no chance whatsoever.

So they would rather keep the younger player on a much lower salary who gives similar production. I expect him to sign for something around $15-18M which would equal a huge amount in luxury tax savings over Whiteside.

At the moment, Winslow is looking like a decent choice given their draft history at the time.

I do like this part though:

And then the 10th pick, they called Riley, and Riley just laughed and hung up on them. Riley was like, ďNo, Iím taking Justise Winslow. Iíll talk to you guys later.Ē

    Something interesting:

Pat, Spo and others were seen at the draft combine, maybe they were their just for due diligence and possible undrafted free agents or maybe they're thinking of buying back in the second round if they see someone they like

BUT...since we sent $5.1 million to the Mavs in the McBob trade we can agree to buy a pick but have to wait until July 6th for the new calendar year to begin for the transaction to be completed

With that said, possible second rounders of interest for me would be:

Justin Jackson (Maryland) He's 6'7 with a 7'3 wingspan can be a nice swing forward
Kevin Hervey (UT-Arlington) Hes about 6'8 with a 7'4 wingspan another swing forward type
Jevon Carter (WVU) seems like a Heat player, tough minded, good defender, fills back up PG
Landry Shamet (Wichita St) Probably the best shooter in the draft and he can play PG, average athlete tho
Shake Milton (SMU) 6'6 with 7" wingspan, plays PG

Really a backup PG or swing forward would be nice

Miami needs to be looking at 3PT shooting PGs or combo guards because they are likely going to lose Ellington and need to try and dump Tyler Johnson.

And even if they don't lose him, they need to improve the team's shooting, as its currently not enough. They need to become better at spacing the floor.

A TJ McConnell, Seth Curry type backup PG that can give you 15 minutes a night and hit over 40% would be the idea.

I went to UT-Arlington to get my MBA and watch pretty much all their games so I'm probably pretty biased but I would love it if the Heat somehow got Kevin Hervey.

So Brandon McCoy (Freshmen C at UNLV)

Is projected 50-60 now after the combine...Because he's not athletic

As a freshmen he put up around the same Numbers that Ayton did

He also busted Aytons *** when they played eachother

Might be worth buying a 2nd for
