Despite some of the numbers, he's had a pretty good year.

The walks in the first half really really hurt him.

Getting rocked by Cleveland twice and the walks. Other than that, he's been pretty good. With that said, the walk rate is a little alarming.

Can anyone explain to me why VerHagen has a 40 man roster spot?

They are. I haven't checked, but I believe the walk rate has gone down significantly over the last ~6-7 starts though. So that's good news.

FanRag's Jon Heyman is hearing that Ian Kinsler was claimed on waivers by an unknown team.
Kinsler's contract includes a very affordable $10 million option for 2018, so there wasn't much chance that he'd clear waivers. The Tigers can either work out a deal with the highest-priority team that claimed him or pull him back and keep him for the rest of the season. They'll probably choose the latter.

Brewers were tied to him earlier so maybe its them trying to get a deal done.

No. He is god awful and always has been. Must be related to somebody high up in the organization

Yeah for sure. Definitely been back to his old self for the most part lately.

Given how the game went it felt as if the walk off homer was bound to happen for the Tigs.

i know this season is a lost cause but come on man, who the **** is this guy and why the **** is he up here?

Rondblown needs to go. Not down to AAA so the stupid management can call him up again, he needs to be completely removed from the organization.
