This is pretty much exactly what Quintana should cost, and it kinda blows my mind that the Sox were willing to accept "just" what he should cost from the Cubs.

Pretty sure this gives them the hands down top farm in baseball now.

Good trade, though I am surprised they moved him so quickly with both the Astros and Brewers being reportedly involved.

Same. I just knew the Astros or Yankees would've pulled the trigger. I heard Eloy is dope but that's about it.

Probably this paired with the Cubs wanting to get ahead of the market. I'd assume the Cubs were pressuring to accept an Eloy led deal or they would take their prospects elsewhere. Who knows, maybe that's a wild assumption.

I think its a good trade for both teams. Eloy can be a stud. Dude's got like 80 raw power and has a good hit tool. Cease is a good power arm. He's had TJ surgery in the past but has recovered nicely. He projects as a 2-3 starter.

Eloy came in at 5 and 6 on the two recently released top 100 lists from BP and BA and Cease is the best SP prospect we've had in years. I like Cease more than most. It almost hurts more that he had to be included than Eloy, who I had accepted would need to be moved.

Really hoping Quintana just needed a change of scenery.
