    Summer League Thread

Anyone watch summer league. I know OG is out until possibily after the start of the year but JP and Siakim still have a ton to prove IMO. Couldn't watch them play but saw highlights of other guys and Lonzo was trash.

I didn't expected Ball to do really well in his first SL but he played better than I thought. Perhaps my expectations of him were so low to end up like Dlo's first SL and even said it as much beforehand. Now if Fultz had played like Ball, I would be shocked

I find it difficult to get interested/excited about young players on the Raps now. It's not because I don't think there are players who can contribute and be good NBA players but because of the system and coach that make it so difficult for developement to happen.

Management is forcing Caseys hand into playing the young guys.

I have no idea what Siakam is. He's impossible to peg down. Can anyone think of an NBA comparible? Outside of his spirit-animal definitely being a snake.. His post moves are very slithery.

    Lol

I like how he plays. Not sure if he has to fix his jumper but he can run an offense. He has great awareness and can make those highlight reel passes. The Lakers could be fun to watch next yr.

Watched my first summer game in quite some time. I feel the quality of play is better than I remember (maybe I just haven't watched quality basketball in a while). VanVleet and Siakam had some rough turnovers, fouls, mental mistakes down the stretch. Poeltl was a beast (17points, 10 boards, couples assists, a steal, a block - probably could have been credited for an additional steal and block as well, but the stats went to others who contributed to the play).

I'm a little disappointed Siakam hasn't seemed to add any weight this year. He still looks a bit skinny and awkward out there. His active hands on defense were clutch in the 4th though.

Missed the game but I think he's bulked up. Looks a little bigger to me.

He didn't look it to me, but I hope he's bulked up a bit, a little more strength can help his biggest assets (defense and rebounding). The one think I noticed about him, he is launching 3's now - I think he is 4-9 in summer league now.

Siakam doesn't need to bulk up, he just needs to be able to shoot from the outside....and he is 4 for 9 through the first 3 games. He has looked good off the bounce too so far with the freedom he has been given to create some offense. More like the guy who was a #1 option as a sophomore and averaged over 20 ppg. He also had 3 blocks last night in their 82-81 win over the Nuggets to bring his total to 5.
