Washington Nationals @ New York Mets- June 15th-June 18th

You guys remember his all star game inning? When he threw 10 pitches and struck out all three batters? Man, that was sweet.

I would not trade him. I believe him and Syndergaard are the two guys you need to keep.

But if you get a Shelby Miller type offer, you may want to pull the trigger.

True, its been shown that over a 162 game season the batting order isnt going to make a lot of difference.

I think one study determined that batting the pitcher fourth would cost a team about 1/10th of a run per game.

In hindsight he made the wrong decision.

Determining whether that power is sustainable is not something you can get from 300 PA. Sorry. I don't care how many times you need to tell everyone you're right, which is really what this is about. An ego stroke.

In August of 2008 I predicted Murphy would someday win a batting title and defended him throughout 2009, I thought he could be that good of a hitter, but I was mocked and ridiculed by the Internet as Murphy's career went backwards.

In the end Murphy proved me right! He became as good as I knew he would be!

Lets not forget that the Mets also let Justin Turner leave like Murphy. Sure would be nice to have Turner @ 3rd, Rosario at SS, and Murphy at 2nd.

The potential was there since he was drafted. I mean that's the reason he was drafted as our favorite ex minor league coordinator said when he saw him when he went to see his son and became aware of Daniel Murphy.

IMO the divide was that well he sucks on defense and made some of the most bonehead moves once in awhile on the bases, but the bat looked legit like it could be a consistent .300 hitter.
