New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays May 19,20, 21. IGT

New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays
Friday, May 19, 7:10 PM ET , Tropicana Field

    Luis Severino, RHP

Severino goes into this start against Tampa Bay with 47 strikeouts vs. 10 walks in 42 innings. Opponents have managed to hit just .223 against Severino over seven starts.

    Erasmo Ramirez, RHP

Ramirez will slide into the rotation in the aftermath of Blake Snell getting optioned to Triple-A Durham. Ramirez has made 12 appearances this season, including one start when he picked up the win after going five innings on April 20 vs. Detroit.

New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays
Saturday, May 20, 4:10 PM ET , Tropicana Field

    Masahiro Tanaka, RHP

Tanaka will try to atone for a rough outing in his last start against Houston. He has already surrendered 10 home runs in 45 innings, and the opponents' batting average against him is a hefty .291 through eighth outings.

    Matt Andriese, RHP

Andriese picked up the win Sunday when he held the Red Sox to two runs on four hits in five innings. He faced the Yankees on April 13 and came away with a no-decision after allowing one run on five hits in six innings.

New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays
Sunday, May 21, 1:10 PM ET , Tropicana Field

    CC Sabathia, LHP

Sabathia bounced back from a stretch of three rough outings by pitching 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball against the Royals in his last start. Sabathia was pleased with his cutter in Kansas City, a pitch he had struggled with in recent weeks.

    Chris Archer, RHP

Archer had his worst outing of the season Monday at Cleveland when he allowed six earned runs in five innings, including a five-run first inning. The outing saw Archer walk six Cleveland batters. Of the 101 pitches he threw, only 57 went for strikes.

Tanaka needs to have a good outing to quiet fears from the media... And do we have another Nick Johnson on our hands with Greg Bird always injured?

    As for last nights game:

Sevy was squeezed by that damn ump! But was happy to see Sevy leave on a positive note in his final inning...

We are in a little slump as the last 10 games indicate a 4-6 record..

I just fear Tanaka will throw another clunker in that pit today..He hates pitching there..

something is really wrong with Tanaka, hes had a couple of bad games in a row before with us but never 4 or 5. I wonder how long it will be before we hear he needs TJS or has some other kind of injury. If he is hurt or he keeps pitching like this i can't see him opting out. Also if we have any playoff aspirations were going to have to go out and get another front end starter

How many people would have guessed going into the season a quarter way througb Pineda would be our best and most consistent starter followed closely by Sevy.

Nice to see Sanchez and Judge go yard in the same game, those 2 and whoever they put around them are going to give pitchers nightmares for yrs

Since you were honest and brave enough to admit it, I think this time we can forgo any punishment.

i know this is going to sound crazy but this team, especially the pitchers were playing alot better when Romine was behind the plate. I havent checked stats but by the eye test. it sure seems that way. If the stats show that to be true i have no idea how to.fix it but it sure seems that way

I agree. Based solely on the eye test. I think Romine has more experience calling a game. Pitchers may trust his pitch selection a bit more.
