Official 2017 Off-season Thread: Concluding the Process

Who you drafting? Who you trading? Who you signing?

The picks have been divvied up, folks. Now, it's time to discuss all the possibilities this summer has to bring in the form of draft picks, trades and free agency.

Let's close those three threads and argue...er, discuss civilly all in one place.

    Here are some key dates:
    June 22 Draft day.

June 24 Last day for potential restricted free agents to exercise player options.

June 29 Last day for decisions on player, team and early termination options, unless individual contracts specify otherwise.

June 30 Last official day of 2016/17 league year; last day for teams to make qualifying offers to players eligible for restricted free agency.

July 1 Official start of 2017/18 league year; July moratorium begins. Free agents can begin reaching verbal agreements with teams.

July 6 July moratorium ends (11:00am CT); teams can begin officially signing players and making trades.

the process is dead and as a big time supporter i couldnt be happier.

I am drafting Jackson at 3 assuming Fultz isnt there.
    Pick #36: Josh Hart (Nova).
Pick 39: Montee Morris (Iowa St).
    Pick 46: Nigel Hayes (Wisonsin)
Pick 50: Mathias Lessort (France/Stash guy)

*doubt we make all 4 2nds but just for the hell of it

Then I am singing Jrue to a deal slightly below his max. Sign Patrick Patterson for 3/36

    New lineup:

    Jrue/TJ/Morris
    Jackson/Sauce/Bayless/Hart
    Cov/TLC/Anderson
    Simmons/Saric/Patterson
    Embiid/Holmes

    **Hayes to the Sevens

    Damn, dish! That's cold-blooooooded!

I like Patrick Patterson name. Probably doesn't fit my vision though.

    Plan A:
Trade 3 and future first (whichever one they want) for Fultz.
    Sign kcp. Re-sign Covington.
Draft 4 project bigs in second round to stash. Leave korkmaz overseas.

    Plan B:
    Draft Jackson.
    Sign jrue.
    Re-sign Covington.
Second round - same as above.
    Bring over korkmaz.

    Plan C:
Trade picks plus Covington for Paul George.
    Sign kcp.
    Sign Lowry.
    Bring over korkmaz.
Draft two stash bigs in second.
Move into late first for backup center. Two year project type.
Sign vet center around $8M per.
Be 3rd in east right away. Team needs a year to gel.

Aw crap! That mock floating around with Boston taking Tatum 1 is messing my head up. It has Jackson and Isaac going 5 and 10 respectively.

Now I'm wondering how to get both sacto picks after taking fultz. Dario and their pick back? Sorry hydro.

    Embiid
    Isaac
    Simmons
    Jackson
    Fultz
    OMG!!!

Or we take Fultz, then keep all the picks, then find out if we can shake Klay free next offseason.

    Fultz
    Klay
    RoCo
    Simmons
    Embiid

    **** you nba. Haha.

Drafting JJ without hesitation. I believe he's the best all around talent in the draft. Fultz IMO is the best fit for the Sixers but JJ has the best all round game.

I like Jawun Evans from OSU as a second round pick.
He's a 6'1", traditional point in the mold of Chris Paul.

And i like Jrue in FA.

Dario is better than Isaac and likely to stay better. Don't be silly.

I'm hoping that over the next 2-3 seasons Jackson will improve as a scorer the way Kahwi and Butler did.

I'm confident he does not end up in the mold of the athletic defender i.e. Iggy, Ariza, etc....

I have good news for you. JJ's shot was improving by the end of the college season. He was starting to hit the 3 consistently.
He still needs work to improve his FT shooting.

Yes. That might currently be true in a vacuum. I wouldn't trade Saric to get Isaac straight up. It's too much of a kick the can move. But we'd be getting Jackson too.

But there's no way to guarantee Isaac would be there at 10. Actually, the base premise is pretty far fetched from the jump.

Being a scorer or improving as a scorer has little to do with simply improving a jump shot. There's a lot of great shooters that aren't great scorers.

Great scorers have swagger about them, they have a handle, and they score in a variety of ways including pull ups, spot ups, off the ball, cutting, and my personal favorite, attacking the rim... If we take Jackson, i would like to see him improve substantially in a variety of ways scoring the basketball from the wing... that's a huge reason I wanted Monk, but I believe Jackson has the ability and attitude to become that type of scorer.

Saric and a first for Isaac and Jackson? Is that essentially the trade breakdown?

Sac doesn't do that, and Jackson would be gone by 4 in that scenario anyway. No way the Suns pass on him at 4 if Tatum, Fultz, and ball are all off the board...

And I don't think Isaac gets past the Timberwolves.
