How would you make the Cavs better next year?

Personally I think the key is defense... They cant really add anything so it would need to be a trade... I would try to offer the bulls Kyrie for butler... Does this make them better? I dont think Kyrie can duplicate his defensive performance from last finals... He didnt during the season and hasnt in the 3 games so far in the playoffs... He is really streaky... I am not sure they can get much for love so kyrie might be their only chance at getting better.

No much more you need to do, this team is going to the ECF every year. just need some moonier tweaks.

You trade Love way before Kyrie. He's less involved on offense and interior D is their real weakness. Thompson is much better as a PF who can come for weak side blocks and can handle switching on to perimeter players rather than trying to be a true rim protecting C. They use Love as a glorified floor spacer on most nights and you don't need to pay $20M+ a season for a floor spacer who struggles on D.

With how Kyrie looked today, I'd be more worried about the shape of his knee for this run.

the thing is it would be smart to trade love first... It would have been insanely ideal to trade for Noel in all honestly and then ship Love out somewhere but they wont get anything for love... Kyrie gets them butler possibly.

Eh, I like Noel but with the likelihood that he is making close to or over $20M next season I don't find that close to ideal. He hasn't proven himself to be worth a $20M value yet and they already have Thompson. If they trade Love, it needs to be for a versatile rim defender who can space the floor a bit too, not a possibly better version of a player they already have.

Really, as the pigeon said, they don't need to do anything. They're defending champs and as they showed in that second half can still play at an insanely high level on both ends when they are truly motivated. They're stacked and as long as they are going to be able to pick up good vets for dirt on buyouts they will always be stacked. It's the mental part of the game that holds them back.

I'd trade Kevin Love AND Kyrie. I don't think either are conducive to winning championships and did so last year only by the grace of LeBron. Well... LeBron's getting older, and the Warriors are better.

I would trade everyone accept Lebron!!!!!!

And by everyone I mean Kyrie, Love and Tristan.

There best team doesn't have them on the floor lol. Lebron is a beast, dude is just a beast. That performance... he can just completely control a game with average hard working players who do there job for teammates. Jordan had an awesome team constructed, because they were great players that worked hard and did there job. Love and Kyrie are great players who don't do there job. They are good at a job, but no the job needed. Deron Williams came in and did his job and the Cavs killed.

Trade Kyrie, Love and Tristen for the perfect pieces.

Bring in Paul George, Jimmy Butler, D wade, Cauley Stein

Go out and get Oakafor, he should be cheap, and playing with Lebron and a bunch of talent would probably transform him into a beast.

    PG Lebron James/Deron Williams
    SG DWade/JR Smith
    SF Jimmy Butler/Iman Shumpert/Korver
    PF Paul George/ Frye
    C Cauley Stein/Oakafor

Lebron will guard whoever the team needs him to guard obviously even though he will run PG with the first team.

I like this team much better obviously. But they should seriously trade the other three and bring in as much value as possible. Today was very eye opening. Seeing Lebron dominate with bums again reminded me that the best play in basketball is to give the ball to Lebron and space the floor. Do that every single time and it will be nothing but high percentage shots produced.

They won the title. They already tweeked and added Dwill and Korver. They dont want a traditional big. They like Love and Thompson. They match up better with GSW that way.

They aren't going to get to GS bc they don't have a big

    get smaller? haha

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

I wonder what the Celtics would give up for Irving. He's offensively as good as Thomas and not any worse defensively, while being bigger and younger.
Would the Celtics be willing to trade Smart, Zeller and either Bradley or Crowder? The Cavaliers would lose a lot of offense without Irving, but they can get more depth and one of the best defensive back courts in the league.
