And is he a non human entity? If so are those that met him there dead? Or the ones that left in the car survived?

It is a little confusing, but someone pointed this out on reddit:

In the Bowling Alley, as Nikki is leaving with the cat in tow... Ray Wise' Paul Marrane calls "Ray", then says "You'll have to leave the cat".
If you remember "The Narrow Escape Problem" (Episode 4), you'll probably remember that Nikki was introduced as the Cat in Billy Bob Thornton's Peter and The Wolf intro.
Paul Marrane is basically telling Ray he has to leave Nikki.
It seems like he's communicating with the living on behalf the ones that are dead...Gloria from her stepfather (though I barely remember that conversation, will have to watch it again to be sure), Nikki from Ray, Yuri from a bunch of people he's probably killed. I'm guessing he'll make another appearance before the season is over.

That reddit poster seems to be overthinking things if you ask me.

He's like the old black man in O Brother Where Art Thou, a god-like entity that is almost outside the realm of the story.

This season started very slowly, but the last few episodes have been great. Looking forward to the finale.

I've been pretty underwhelmed by this season but the last episode was fantastic.

Finale was alright, tail end of the season was pretty strong, but overall I was underwhelmed by this season of Fargo. Hard to live up to the greatness of S2.

I'm gonna have to binge the whole thing to get a feel for the first half again. Slower starts to seasons are always much better when you don't have to wait a week in between episodes. Seconds half was pretty great though.

I can concretely say that I hate endings like that, tell me what happens don't leave it to me to decide ****ers.

I didn't mind this open ended finale much at all compared to other ones I've seen. I think the Hawley's were kinda trying to show that both possibilities were just as seemingly likely but that Varga finally got got.

Yeah, with more than an hour passing by on the clock, that's the sense I got unless I was wrong about the time that transpired.

I can agree that this one was easier to swallow.

I thought I saw an hour pass by as well but I think in the end it was just the seconds hand.
