By the way, Royce Lewis did not look "overmatched" by the professional game. He started out with the GCL Twins and finished the season with Cedar Rapids. I might get a chance to see him play in the playoffs this week.

The Twins franchise is well represented in the minor league playoffs.
Rochester missed the playoffs, due to a tie-breaker, but had a good season finishing at 80-62.
Chattanooga won in game 1, 4-3 with a fast start. The first 2 batters singled and Nick Gordon stole 2nd, followed by a 2-run single from LaMonte Wade. Wade scored on a single by Andy Wilkins. TJ White hit a solo homer to end the scoring for the Lookouts. Zack Littell picked up the win allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 5 walks and 6 Ks in 5.2 innings. Gabriel Moya allowed an unearned run in the 9th to pick up the save.
Ft Myers was swept out of the playoffs by identical 3-2 scores. Palm Beach and Dunedin will split the title, due to hurricane Irma.
Cedar Rapids won game 1, 6-5 with Lewin Diaz going 3/4 with 3 doubles, a run scored and 4 RBI. Tyler Wells started the game, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and 8 Ks in 5.2 innings. Logan Lombana picked up the win with 1 inning and a strikeout. Hector Lujan struck 1 out in a perfect 9th to earn the save.
E'ton won their first round 2-1 with a 6-0 win. The pitchers struck out 13 hitters and allowed 3 walks and 4 hits. The finals will pit the E'Twins against Pulaski Yankees.
Oh, and by the way, Akil Badoo was voted the Appy League POM in August.
The GCL Twins lost in the first round of the GCL playoffs.

The E'Twins won the Appy League title for a record 11th time sweeping the Pulaski Yankees. Game 2 found the E'Twins winning 8-7, on a 2/4 night from Akil Badoo. He had a double and a triple, scored a run and drove in 1. Mark Contreras was 2/5 with a 3-run homer. Moises Gomez picked up the win with 5 IP, 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, 6 Ks. Jovani Moran struck out 4 in 2.1 perfect innings to earn the save. These are the guys that I will be able to see next summer in Cedar Rapids.
In the Midwest League, the Kernels swept Kane County 2 games to none. In game 2, Trey Cabbage hit a 3-run homer to cap a 6-run 4th inning to seal the 7-3 win. Clark Beeker allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings to pick up the win. He struck out 6. Hector Lujan stranded 2 runners in the bottom of the 9th to earn the save.
Cedar Rapids moves on to play the Quad Cities River Bandits in the semi-finals. Game 1 is today in Davenport.
Chattanooga leads their series with Montgomery 2 games to 1 with a 2-0 win yesterday. TJ White hit a 2-run homer for the win. Felix Jorge, Todd Van Steensel and Gabriel Moya combined on a 3 hitter with Jorge picking up the win and Moya the save. They walked 1 and struck out 8. Game 4 is today in Chattanooga.

Cedar Rapids lost their playoff series to the Quad Cities River Bandits, but had an excellent season.
The Chattanooga Lookouts were crowned co-champions of the Southern League, as the finals were canceled because someone invited Irma to the party.
