Gordon, Berrios and Co. 2017 Twins Minor Leaguers

The minor league season has started. Rochester has not played yet due to poor weather, Chattanooga and Cedar Rapids have both split their first 2 games and Ft Myers has lost their first 2 games.
Nick Gordon is 3/8 to open the year, batting lead-off for Chattanooga. The pitching seems to be pretty good.
I'll post some game summaries as time allows.

Jose Berrios starts for Rochester today, so I'll post something about his game tonight when I get home from work.

Berrios pitched 6 shutout innings on the way to an easy win as Rochester beat Syracuse 10-0. He allowed 3 hits, a walk and struck out 7 to pick up his first win of the year. Looks like it will be just a matter of time before he is back in Minnesota. DJ Baxendale picked up a 3-inning save, giving up a hit and striking out 3. Matt Hague was 3/6 with a run scored. Daniel Palka and Park were each 2/4. Mitch Garver was 2/2 with 4 RBI and Ben Paulsen hit a grand slam in the 6-run 7th inning.

We saw a couple of games this weekend -- Cedar Rapids v. Quad Cities. CR lost both by a run each. Some of the kids look like they can play a bit.

Big Bart signed a minor league deal with the Twins. With an ERA over 8 so far, I don't have a lot of hope that he will help anytime soon, but he is definitely a low risk signing. If he is done, he didn't cost much.

Surprised Gordon is the only Twin to make the Futures roster?

Is Gonsalves the next prospect to get his shot for a start or two like Jorge?
With Santiago down, who's our 5th starter otherwise?
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Not really. The only other player I could have seen make the roster is Mitch Garver.
In other news, Big Bart's first start as a Red Wing didn't go well -- 3.2 IP, 4 hits, 4 runs (all earned), 2 walks and 5 K's. He took the loss.
