Caught stealing 2nd when you are the only man on, with 2 outs, and down 2 runs. Hmm...

EDIT: Got bailed out by the review. And now struck out to confirm the loss and shutout

On the plus side, pitching has been good.

Offense was brutal last night, after that first inning the were just hacking at everything. Pitching has been solid but this isn't a good Reds team, so you have to factor in that. As for the Herrera steal, just terrible. Maybe he thought they'd just give it to him since they were up by 2.

They had one of the best pitching staffs up until like June of last year but their offense was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad (not enough a's). Hopefully Stairs helps them out but they only have 4 runs in 2 games so far. Small *** sample size but let's hope it's not the same situation as last season.

I'm pretty much over Buchholtz already. Has looked a lot like last season over the spring and 1st start which is not a good thing. Anyway, though loss today. Any game you jump out to a 4-1 lead you should win almost all the time.

my issue has been and will be gomez... i ****ing hated that we didnt trade him when his stock was high... Its not hard to see he was playing well above his head... He isnt good and he wont be good... **** man we should have traded him like we did giles... Giles will actually be ****ing good... Gomez wont. I cant ****ing stand when we miss out on something a blind man could see... Everyone knew the regression would be real... I was screaming from the roof top with others to trade his *** esp when we saw what closers were going for... Missed opportunity to sell high on an over priced market for a not very good closer. We would have gotten a ton with how much this dude was being talked about nationally for his saves etc... We could have put neris or anyone in there right now and probably stolen quite a bit for him.... kldjsbkjsbgk

I expected Buchholz to be better, but he will bounce back, in the Jenmar thng I agree with MTM.

re: Gomez, his stock was never high among baseball people. Five or 10 years ago, they could have traded the saves, but that hasn't been an option for years.

re: Buchholz, he had 50 grade command innings 1-3. Then it dropped to 30 grade. I guess he was tired? Conditions weren't ideal by any stretch.

VV was getting squeezed a ton... I love the Ks but he really needs to start Pitching to contact... He will never go 7 annually if he doesnt... So much ****ing potential though man... 10ks in 4 innings lol.

He'll probably be like Lance McCullers, another good pitcher who typically throws only 5+ IP per start.

From what I saw he was nasty but would have been even better with a strike zone.

Velasquez is still young, I'm hoping he eventually learns how to actually pitch rather than be a K artist. Even if he doesn't, a 9-10 K per 9 guy is still a valuable rotation piece if he stays healthy and keeps his walks down.
