    Creation of Life?

    Which is better theory?

    1) All life arose from inorganic material in a primordial soup.

    2) Life was "seeded" on earth from another place in the universe, either by accident (comet) or intelligently (by aliens).

Would it be accurate to say those are the two leading theories in the "scientific " world today?

Does "better" mean more likely? There's a lot of evidence for random but systematic self-organization. I vote for the thermodynamic theory not listed.

What created alien life? What created God? Even if current science can't say with certainty how life first formed, neither anything else. At least with science they're trying to empirically figure it out and are open to new ideas.

I'd argue this part no longer has any relevance whatsoever to how life is created today

New here on non sports post. Hope I'm not intruding. Good article. Thank you.

Have a degree in Microbiology and we were thought in college the soup theory.

Interesting to have a Physicists perspective with an equation at that.

And you could argue that the other part doesn't either. You can create a human without putting a penis in a vagina.

Very interesting article (though I did not quite understand much of it).

I dont know what you mean by "seeded" on Earth from another place in the universe. We know that everything in the expanding universe contains the same elements, i.e building blocks.

We don't know how those building blocks got there so there are really no leading theories now.

If evolution is indeed true, soup theory prob makes the most sense. It's really more of the same

Evolution has been demonstrated. And as for your "soup theory" making the most sense to you, quite often scientific discoveries tend to be counter-intuitive. Scientists don't form theory based on guesses or "what might seem to make the most sense." They weave together a series of facts and see if they can use them to demonstrate a theory.

What makes the most sense right now with regards to :how all life arose" is "We don't know."
