"there's no scraps in my scrapbook"
Im rooting for the guy.
And he was 1 out of 12 prior to that infield squibbler?
Look, I'm rooting for him as well, but I doubt he ever even reaches AA. And with this age, it's almost out of the question that he develops enough to actually push beyond that level. A call-up would almost certainly be a promotional situation only.
The level of talent jump from misc independent play to the lower levels (where TT will be) is pretty insane. But then the jump from the lower levels to AA is basically double that. AA to AAA isn't much of a change, but from AA/AAA to the MLB it's night and day again.
And with his age.....pretty unlikely.
I wish we would leave it alone. If he makes it to AA and is doing well over large sample sizes, then it makes sense to start discussing him.
Nothing about his scouting reports or video make him look like he'll ever even come close to the big leagues.
I do think if anyone can do it, they need the type of work ethic Tebow has. But that probably won't matter in his case. Even if he is athletic as well.
Bobby Bonilla coming out of retirement has a better chance to make the majors than Tebow does.
The Mets signed him because he's a 100,000 dollar investment that easily turns a profit.
That;s where the media circus would be a huge benefit. As it stands now, is it worth the media circus for a A or AA ball situation with Tebow? Sure, he will be a positive influence for most and show them how to be professional, but again, is it worth the media circus? It's why he was never really considered for a backup QB job, because the media attention didn't warrant the position in the eyes of most front offices.

I'd like to see him play in Brooklyn, he would draw big crowds for the Cyclones.
