    Top 25 Hitters Ever

    What's your list?

    My list
    1. Ruth
    2. Williams
    3. Bonds
    4. Gehrig
    5. Cobb
    6. Raja
    7. Mantle
    8. Musial
    9. Speaker
    10. Ott
    11. Foxx
    12. Mays
    13. Aaron
    14. Frank Thomas
    15. Frank Robinson
    16. Manny Ramirez
    17. Jim Thome
    18. Collins
    19. A-Rod
    20. Bagwell
    21. Chipper
    22. Sheffield
    23. Schmidt
    24. Miggy
    25. Honus Wagner
    Honorable mentions
Edgar Martinez, Eddie Mathews, Harry Heilmann, Killebrew, McCovey, Papi, Reggie Jackson, DiMaggio, McGwire, Mize, Greenberg

Yaz, Griffey, Waner, and Rickey fall just below this tier.

This obviously ignores drugs and the other aspects of baseball like defense and base running. Itís simply the best hitters to ever player the game.

i'd personally move Ott way down. He raked at home and his Avg wasnt that high for the Era. 323 HRs at Home vs. 188 Away. The Polo Grounds did hurt his Avg a bit however, he wouldn't have nearly as many HRs.

I know a list like this is subjective but I struggle to list or give so much weight to players I didn't get to see.
Modern names I think that should be listed include Gwynn,Ichiro Carew and Clemente.

It's funny how nobody except Tony LaRussa's Cards would pitch to him. Tony figured out that as great as Bonds was, he still would fail more than 60% of the time.

Is Jeff Bagwell the most underrrated hitter of the past 20 years?

I'd say Cobb is no doubt the best hitter of all time. Then I'd go Williams next, but after that I just have no idea what the order would be.
