We match. There would be no competition, as far as we're concerned, here in LA. You'll start for us at nickel.

Jags will go to 1.2 million
LA is guaranteeing that you will be their number 3 CB.
Wouldn't you rather come to a place that is giving you an opportunity to be a #2, with the worst case scenario being a #3? That's what we offered.

You're playing CB and not WR, Patrick, there's really no difference between a #2 CB and a #3 CB, as long as they're both starting positions. And they are. Only difference is between starting inside as a nickel or on the outside. You'll man the nickel, but we'll mix things up a bit at times with you and DRC. For what it's worth, we match.

PRob just to remind you, your whole career has been filled with some controversy as the Saints didn't respect you as a CB even as a high pick and let you walk to FA. Then you also played in a solid San Diego team but its not a perennial contender like this Seahawks team, with all due respect to the current Chargers GM, he's done a great job now.

The pedigree and the national exposure of the legion of boom speaks for itself. Don't you want to join a secondary of Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, and Earl Thomas where you are starting? We're playing with 3 CBs and you are #2 on that depth chart right behind Sherman so you will be starting and playing a lot.

We're also one of the most talked about teams in the league so you'll finally get some attention and respect you deserve. We'll up to 2.75M, we want you here. Guaranteed.

Patrick, we're confident enough to trust letting you decide for yourself who you think is the actual contender right now, so leaving that aside, for whatever it's worth, Seattle has recently signed another CB being promised to compete for that same #2 spot on their depth, as well as two other veterans. On the other hand, you're guaranteed to start for us as we'll be in nickel as a base package, with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Casey Heyward manning the outside receivers. Do not think of that being set in stone either, as we will rotate based on matchups we're faced with. Which is why we like the idea of having three proven corners who can be quality starters both on the outside, as well as inside.

In any case, we match the 2.75M guaranteed and hope to get you back on the team.

The veterans we have signed are on VMSB. Richard Sherman is our #1 CB. Beyond that, here's what we've told our signings:

The Seahawks will offer 1.5M for a potential CB2 role. At worst you will be a nickel. Guaranteed. ---> This is what we told Verner.

Come give the LOB some depth at corner. - VMSB ---> This is what we told Cromartie.

VMSB to come to Seattle ---> This is what we told Keenan.

So as you can see, both Keenan and Cromartie are simply old vets who are there as mentors. We would be awful GMs if we didnt fill out our roster with depth in case we have injuries, and our scheme is so dependent on pass rush and corner coverage that of course we are going to fill it out. I think its pretty clear to see that they are not really competition but good vets to have around the team. Hence they're on VMSBs.

Verner is in a reclamation role where we offered him a chance to resurrect his career. It's true that you will have competition with Verner and Carr, but don't you feel that competition is healthy?

If you go to any good team Patrick, you're going to have competition. We're promising you a starting role and a ton of snaps on a big named team on national TV playing big games.

Again, it wasn't a shot at the LA GM, he's done a phenomenon job. We were speaking to your career thus far on the teams you've played on. You will get your money, your attention and a perennial NFC contender that should have won multiple SBs. We also have a franchise QB, an elite OL, and an explosive pass rush in Bennett, Avril, Okafor to help our CBs out.

Don't you want ET as your CFer insurance? Don't you want big Kam laying people out? Don't you want to play with a secondary that possess swagger like no other?

    COME TO SEATTLE BABY. 3M.
