Darrelle Revis charged with four felonies after alleged altercation

Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has been charged with felony aggravated assault and robbery for his alleged involvement in an altercation that took place in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, according to court records obtained by NFL.com.

Revis, 31, was charged Thursday in Allegheny County (Pennsylvania) with four felonies -- two counts of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy: aggravated assault. He also was charged with making terroristic threats -- a misdemeanor.

The former All-Pro hasn't turned himself in yet to authorities. Blaine Jones, Revis' attorney, told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo on Friday that he and the Pittsburgh Police Dept. are "working out the details of turning Darrelle in to law enforcement."

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told NFL.com the league will look into the matter. Revis faces the possibility of discipline from the league under the NFL's personal conduct policy. The Jets confirmed to NFL.com they are aware of the incident.

Pretty incredible story for a player who has been squeaky clean for the entirety of his career. I will still reserve judgement for now as he is disputing the facts of the case.

For a player who was likely to be cut before this, I am not sure what this does.

Once again the old adage that nothing good happens at 2AM rings true

Police report reveals new details in the Darrelle Revis case

The complaint report is built around statements from three men -- the victims, Dallas Cousins, 22, and Zacheriah Jarvis, 21; and a witness, Nathan Watt. None of them said they saw Revis throw a punch. Cousins and Jarvis, roommates, said they were knocked unconscious and don't remember. There was a mystery man at scene, an unidentified black male who might have been an acquaintance of Revis. Is it possible this man, not Revis, attacked Cousins and Jarvis? The report doesn't say. The man was described as 5-foot-11 with a tattoo of stars on his neck.

According to the complaint, "Cousins stated that another black male showed up on the scene as he and Revis were arguing over him throwing his phone and Cousins stated that he believed that he was Revis' friend. Cousins stated that after arguing over his phone, the next thing he remembers was getting punched and then waking up to talk to police."

Pretty crazy that they didn't arrest the guy stalking/harassing him.

Last I read, police are refusing to allow Revis/his attorney to see the video on the cell phone, which is illegal under evidence/discovery laws.

I'm sure Revis is stressed out like crazy after playing poorly last season and knowing he may be cut. The last thing he wanted was to have some kids taking videos of him at 230 am.
Like Jetsguy said, we have to wait to see if he or his friend knocked those kids the **** out.
I would guess they each took one.

Hard to really side in this incident until we see a video i don't condone stalking but it doesn't look good with him just throwing the guys cell phone just because he was annoyed.

assault, IF he's the one punching the two (except how does one guy knock 2 guys out?)
robbery, IF he stole the cell phone (which details infer isn't quite what happened)
    conspiracy.....to do what?

    sounds trumped up
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Strange that he's only getting nailed for robbery now though... He's been stealing from the Jets for the past couple of years.

The bigger question is why doesn't he have a big bruiser with him at all times to handle stuff like this if not his entire entourage like most recognizable players.

    Too cheap perhaps?

Or maybe he believes in the civility of humanity and doesn't expect to get bothered all the time.

Chris Carter must have been the guest speaker for Revis' rookie symposium.
