It has no long-standing effects on your overall visual acuity. (I've worked for ophthalmologists for years, and the one thing all patients come in asking is "i've been using my eyes so much and that's why i can't see or that's why my prescription changed." Not true
MY eye doctor said that watching too much tv, etc was probably why. Either way it's gotten worse.

Either he misspoke, or you misunderstood. It's an acute problem where watching too much TV (or doing any activity that requires focus and causes you to blink less frequently) will result in momentary eye strain and dry eye. If you remove yourself from the activity, it will not persist (and recovery will be quicker with lubricant drops)

Is your near-distance vision or far-distance vision getting worse?

Probably I misunderstood. Last I went to the doctor, both my far and near had to be adjusted.

I used to use my phone/tablet too close to my face but I haven't done that in years and no improvement or anything. Only got worse. Maybe just getting older?

I would be nice to be able to play again and not be laughably bad

I could probably work on it again and get decent again, but it would take a mountain of work.

Yeah it's age. Not sure about your history, but i've had to wear glasses for distance since I was in the 4th grade (starting wearing contacts 8th grade, but still use my glasses). Every year to two years my prescription gets a little worse. I'm in my mid 20s now, and my prescription is still changing. Which is why I can't get LASIK yet, your eyes need to be stable for a few years before they apply the laser to your cornea, otherwise you still may need glasses/contacts because your cornea won't be manipulated in the right way.

And then, middle-age comes and our natural lens loses its ability to change size. That means we get worse with near-vision (hence, reading glasses even if you were 20/20 your whole life, because 20/20 is distance vision).

I was a decent drawer in art class back in high school. But that was a long time ago.

One thing I've actually gotten better at is volleyball, because I only started playing it regularly through the nicer months of the year after high school, so 8 years

Baseball. I was a .450 hitter in ******-level HS ball and can barely swing a bat now.

No, sorry i didn't see this before. I'm definitely improving. I go to physical therapy 3 times a week. I also do the exercises at home. I have resumed all lifting activities except for squats and deads and i should be doing deads. I will this week. I am getting closer to running but my cardio has definitely taken a hit as well as my core. On the plus side the amount of rest i am getting as improved my bench.

Lmao, I think I get laid more now than I did when I was younger. I had some droughts when I was young.
