    Rays ship Smyly to Mariners

Mariners traded for Mallex Smith and then flipped him+ to Tampa for Drew Smyly. I'm not too familiar with the prospects that went to Atlanta, or the other guys Tampa got.

Smith is a hell of an athlete and has a decently high floor (speed + D) but lacks power to really become a superstar IMO.

They apparently gave up their number 5 prospect and number 25 for smith and the reliever. Then gave up two late twenties prospects with smith for smyly

    So the Rays received:
    2.5 years of Smyly
    6 years of Franklin
    Adames for 6 years

And now Smith, Yarbrough, and Vargas

All for 1.5 years of Price lol

I'm picking Seattle for sure as a WC team. Now just to decide which Texas team wins the AL West...

They've been my pick since last month. They look great on paper, just above the Rangers, imo. But, I think I kinda get that feeling to just never bet against Banister (in reg season).

    edit:
But back to the Mariners, is there any concern of Smyly's recovery from his shoulder injury? His 2016 was subpar. Is it a surgery/injury that's easily recoverable? Most ppl seem to think Mariners got a steal for Smyly, but what if he doesn't really get back to his old form?
