Washington got Pryor for 1 year/$8M. I don't know why he'd take such a low offer. If I knew he only wanted that, the Saints should have gone after him instead of Ginn. Pryor can't return kicks, but is a much better WR than Ginn.
Wow that was a steal for the Skins. This is a head scratcher as to why the Saints didn't pursue this to open the Butler trade. Maybe Pryor really likes the DC area I have no clue.
The Pats trade of the 2nd rounder does change the dynamic of the possibility of he Cooks deal. I think Cooks is staying put in New Orleans now. Unless the Pats want to come off their first round pick which is the very last pick but helps with cap situations on a rookie. I highly doubt that they do tho. Imagine Butler, #11 and #32 for the Saints. That is a first day win.
So if Butler signs his Tender with 1st round exception. Can we pick which 1st round pick we give? Give them there 1st back. If we stay with what we got now the 5 guys we get will be the most important to get right. Being we have 5 picks in the 1st 3 rounds and then don't pick again until 6th round. We got a chance to get some quality guys
So DE,CB,S,LB,WR has to be the order of need. Un less Joe Mixon is still there at last pick in 3rd. I say we take him . 1st round talent if he doesn't do what he did.
That's a great question regarding which 1st round pick goes. I can't find an answer. I still don't see the Saints offering Butler that one year contract. Think they are hoping he signs, then the Patriots trade him.
Saints still have $15.8M left because of how the contracts are structured.
