Who we drafting? (Official Pre-Draft Thread)

NCAA preseason is underway. Thought we might as well have place to argue about the soon to be new recruits.

Clearly, our positions of need are the 1, the 2, and the 3. So, point guards and wings will be my focus. You can talk centers and power forwards, if you dare.

My initial want is Jonathan isaacs. He has Ingram-like measurable. 6'11, 205. Tweener. Doesn't have Ingram's shot but he looks to be able to knock them down from deep. And he can put it on the floor a bit. He's probably a tweener. However, seems like a great complement with Simmons and embiid. Will take a few years to develop.

I'm falling out of like with josh Jackson. He's a Wiggins/Jaylen brown type athlete. And he's gonna be an old freshman at 20. So if he doesn't dominate all season, he might not be worth a top 5 spot. I don't know.

Isaacs is my small forward. Today.

There's a lot of point guard options to sift through. So I probably won't have much of an opinion on them for a while.

I don't have a clue who we are drafting

Whoever the best perimeter player available is? I don't trust BC to make this decision unless it's a complete no brainer. Ugh.

Good defender. PG. can play off ball but handle at the same time. Perfect Simbiid complement.

So he can shoot? Yes, he can!

Yes, mark down for foultz. He's gonna be a problem. Reminds me of kyrie.

Same here. I think it's pretty clear where we go in the draft. Josh Jackson looks slightly overrated. I thought he could be a nice 2 guard initially.

It's still too early. The season could play out and a kid we've never heard of could be lighting up the NCAA.

Pending new injuries and significant recoveries, the sixers, pels and nets will be three worst teams in league. So long as Lakers not jumping into top three the pick should convey. So, 1 and a pick between 5 and 10 is very possible.

    Who WE PICKING!!???

Gotta spell his name right at least...FULTZ. Right now, if we had the #1 pick, I would think it would be between Fultz and Dennis Smith Jr. Other early option would include Jackson/Tatum, although Tatum probably doesn't have the athleticism to truly be an elite prospect. Sleepers for #1 would be Giles (if healthy, but probably not for us), Ntilkina (my personal favorite sleeper) and Isaac. But it will be impossible to truly gauge until we get a sample size of NCAA games to analyze.

Why would you not trust BC at this point? I was as pro Hinkie as you could possibly get and was extremely worried about BC during the draft and in FA. But in the draft we wound up with Simmons/TLC/Korkmaz...couldn't really ask for a better haul. And in FA, he signed decent vets to good contracts. Again, what is there to doubt at this point? He also got good value for Jerami Grant (great athlete, fringe NBA player). As much as it surprises me, BC hasn't done anything that I haven't agreed with yet or at least couldn't see the rational behind. A lot hinges of the value we get for Noel/Okafor and next off-season...but based on what he has done so far, I am optimistic.

It was pretty much Larmarcus Aldridge or Bargani amd they already had Chris Bosh I understand that pick...It was either Terrence Ross or Andre Drummond at #8 and they drafted Jonas the year before so that also made sense to me if Im being honest on both...obviously with any draft in any sport hindsight is 20/20

I guess I would rather judge him based on things he has done for the Sixers organization, than things he did for the Raptors in 2006. He had nice hits/moves as the Raptors GM as well.
