Smart move by the Wolves not buying ... just wait a few days... weeks and can get a few vets that will be bought out and can get dirt cheap with no strings. Our rotation is set so just getting some vets for the back end of the rotation/bench is all we will be looking for. Not sexy but smart.

Not sure what the Wolves would have been able to do anyway. I wouldn't exactly say it's "smart" (or for that matter "stupid"). Certainly if there were a deal to get a valuable player on the end of their rookie deal like Marcus Smart, that would have been a good move imo. The team will be capped out for the foreseeable future so deals that contain bird rights are valuable.

great point. Never even thought of that.

Apparently Bellinelli is working on a buyout with the Hawks. It would be nice to have him with the Wolves.

Rumor is the Wolves (kind of) tried to trade for him, but werent willing to give much of anything up. If the Wolves just offered a future 2nd, that would be more than what Atlanta would get for him now. So ATL made a mistake...the other part of the rumor, is that Bellinelli isnt too interested in coming here, and Wolfson tweeted out that it isnt happening.

Unfortunately, this was always going to happen - with Thibs' minutes/rotations, there'll be a few vets who won't want to sign here.

So ready to move on from Wiggins. Wonder what kind of player or players they could get in return in the offseason. So frustrating how talented he is...Jimmy says he's the most talented on the team, KG says he is hands down one of the best players he has ever seen (when he is motivated), and here he is with a super talented team not contributing much.

This season, I often wonder not just if they traded him instead of Lavine, but how much less would the Wolves have had to trade? It was widely thought in the offseason that Wiggins had more value than Lavine, so maybe they would have been able to keep either the pick, or Dunn.

Will anyone take him at this point? As in, if he continues his current form until the end of the season? Do you think we'd need to attach something else?

I don't think we'd get anything of value back at this point - just shorter-term, high value contracts.

I think theres plenty of teams that would be willing to take him on. I feel the Lakers would love him if they miss out in free agency. He works best when he is spoon fed, so some young team looking for a guy who has talent to take over would love him, or some second tier market competing for the playoffs, but lacks star power (Utah and Miami come to mind).

Then again, I'm reminded of the story of another highly touted young guy who had plenty of talent and got traded for a 2nd round pick a few years ago in Michael Beasley (apologizes to those I criticized for comparing Wiggy to Beasley) ...though I think the circumstances there were a little different as they were looking to free up space to form the super team.

LA is a good idea actually. Assuming KCP goes elsewhere (he will), I'd love to get something done there.

I don't think there's any chance Miami would look at him and think the Jazz would be very unlikely. I think a young team is our only chance. Wiggins isn't elevating a team to the next level. On the Heat, for example, I don't know that he's a huge upgrade over Josh Richardson.

^The problem is that you need to get something worthwhile back for Wiggins. I still believe that the team could get a decent return for him this off-season before 90% of the league agrees that he is tapped (but not as much as this previous off-season). At least that is what commentary during nationally-televised games has me believing.
