I don't know why he would want to opt out unless he just went somewhere he absolutely hated and had a stellar year. But even then, he has that performance option based off 2019 Cy Young results.

    Braves Trade Discussion and Rumors

I read the Braves traded Andrew Albers today. I hate that, he had been pitching lights out all year at GWI and even had a hit and RBI last night.

Idk why we would opt out. No way he gets that kind of money again.

We traded him to Seattle for cash.

We are loaded with SP but still disappointing. I wonder who gets bumped up to AAA in his spot?

How are we set up for the 2018 international signing pool. Do we have any advantage this year and what do the specs look like?

We are going to still be on the penalty, so we can't sign anyone for more than 300K.

There will be a lot of movement in the next 48 hours. What will happen? Will Dat Dude be moved? Are we the secret team in on Verlander. I could see us swapping Kemp and Verlander. He could be our Tim Hudson. Will Acuna be promoted???

I would consider A Kemp Verlander swap, however I wouldn't promote Acuna. I think he's the top prospect in baseball for my money, but I don't want to have to protect him on the 40 man roster.

Same. I would hate to lose a guy like Weigel because of that. Hopefully we can move Kemp or Markakis and give Acuna a clear path to the majors in 2018.

    Braves Trade Discussion and Rumors

Acuna has shown he's ready, I want him to get his feet wet next week after the GWI season is over.

I understand your sentiments, however do you really think that's a good reason to loose a Weigle or another above average prospect on the 40 man roster? I just can't justify loosing a spot to get his feet wet. I don't disagree that he may be ready, I'm just looking big picture.

I want Giancarlo Stanton. I don't think we'd trade for him and his ridiculous contract, but man that'd be an awesome outfield of Stanton-Inciarte-Acuna.

Hah. That'd be amazing but yeah never happen.

And a Kemp-Verlander swap would never happen. No reason the Tigers would have any interest in swapping a contract for a contract even getting awesome prospects in my mind.

Man I don't know, in the scenario that the Braves are willing to take that contract (295MM for 10 years, assuming he doesn't opt out) why not throw that money to Machado, who is younger, more consistent and play a more premium position? Machado's deal will probably be higher than 295MM, but the Marlins aren't giving Stanton away for nothing in return, they will want at least 1 top 100 prospect.

If Machado signs for 10 years (with an opt-out) and 350MM, it's a better deal IMO.
