    Roster Speculation Thread XVIIII

If that was to happen who would you pick? Would you go after Fultz or Ball? Change it up and go after Josh Jackson or trade the pick and see if you can get a player and a pick?

I think it would either be Josh Jackson or get a pick and a player for me.

The pressure would all be on the Knicks to produce something. They can't build with that contract there if they have no plans to use him. I think Carmelo has all the leverage here.
    We will see...

But if they release him, isn't his money still on the Knicks cap (2yrs left)? So isn't it the same thing by having him on the team but just coming off the bench or not playing at all? Maybe playing 20min a game.

Melo would tap out before Phil. He would want to get the F out of there. But we will see how it plays out.

Looking at possible available options for the draft. I think a stretch 4 makes a ton of sense based on what we already have on the roster, and TJ Leaf looks like a great pick. Is a stretch 4 but he isnt small, and his biggest weakness is his lack of strength and i feel confident the heat could build up his strength better than any other team.

It's weird, we ended up doing the worst possible thing going from a top 3 pick to the worst pick in the lottery AND missing the playoffs and im not dissapointed at all. I think that the end of the season helped us tremendously from a goodwill perspective around the league. You may argue that makes no difference and guys will chase the money, but the fact that we did not tank and do a full rebuild when it would have been very easy to do is going to help us in the long run.

Would have loved a guy like Fultz, but im not at all dissapointed with where we ended up.

Goran Dragic & Justise Winslow, and maybe the player we draft, for Paul George. Which team says no?

Bring back Dion Waiters and James Johnson to along with that. Love Dragic, but we do have Josh Richardson and Tyler Johnson that can play there.

I think TJ could easily be the starting PG on that team

Both Waiters and PG are ball dominant players

We would need to get a true point to run back up tho

I'd look at Chris Walker of the Rockets D league team for a cheap back up C

    He reminds me of Hassan

Big and so much natural athleticism but had a huge issue with fouling

    Seems like he's fixing that

Yes. Also James Johnson is a ball handler and playmaker. You don't need a true point guard with that team. Like when we had LeBron and Wade, we just played Chalmers at the point. You need combo guards that can defend point guards, hit 3's, and make an impact without needing the ball in their hands. Josh Richardson and Tyler would be good in that role.

And when you want to close the game with a small lineup:

    Tyler Johnson
    Dion Waiters
    Josh Richardson/Wayne Ellington/Rodney McGruder
    Paul George
    James Johnson

To answer the original question, the pacers say no immediately and laugh and ask if that is a joke. Youre not getting Paul George for Dragic, Winslow coming off a year long injury, and a mid first round pick.

You're probably right, but let's say they don't expect to be able to resign him when he becomes a free agent, and as the trade deadline gets closer, the asking price will come down.
