Just saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind again, with the 40th anniversary commentary preceding it. It has aged really well. I had forgotten some of the actors and actresses that were in it. I was entertained.

Nah, just don't like what every other person likes.

It's cool if you like to be like many others. They ain't funny to me, if they make you laugh you can have a cookie.

Classic Sci-Fi. Brilliantly written and directed by one of the greats - Steven Spielberg.

Has anyone seen the first movie he directed.....Duel?

    Movie made with little dialogue.

I think you're overrating the term underrated with the vast majority of these listed. A ton are famous and known for being very good.
Many may be famous, but still underrated.

According to research I did he was on lists that stated he was underrated to my surprise.

There are some on my list that I agree with you and was torn whether they should be on the list or not. The first ones that standout to me are Kirk Douglas and Jack Lemmon, but there are a few others too including Bill Murray.

    The Great Wall - 6/10.

Enjoyed the special effects and really dug the monsters, but found the script blah, acting wooden and a miscast Matt Damon. Tom Cruise would have been a better choice for me.

I've seen Willem Dafoe (one of top 5 underrated favorites) in better roles, but he was still effective.

If I'm correct this movie bombed.

Well that does sour some things, but I find many guys that people love to be annoying, Murray is one of them. Ever since the 80's even though he is in so many of my favorite movies growing up.

    Lol @ Tom Cruise

It would of been better if you know what? They put an Asian actor instead of white washing the movie.

Ah, guess so. I think what happens is depending on the list you look at, timing that is, these will change a ton. Bill Murray is a terrific actor still now and he may be underrated now but if you asked this question 20 years ago, he wouldn't be underrated. A lot of actors/actresses you listed are maybe now underrated but it wasn't like that their entire career.

Buscemi is a guy who's been constantly underrated his entire career. Boardwalk Empire was pretty damn good and I'm pretty sure that was his only lead role. Even then, there were so many characters that he wasn't necessarily focal point of the show.
