    Dodgers call up Joc Pederson

    Please no #Joc'd.

Should be a good offensive burst for the Dodgers with him.

Since it's September call up that means he didn't make the playoff roster?

Can't wait for Crawford and Ethier to be starting over him.

Actually he might be, in 2002 k-rod came up like 2 weeks into September, but still made the playoff roster, the rules can be a bit squirrely.

This is centered on the dodgers and their prospects, but it applies equally to all teams.

Nope, he's eligible for the playoffs.

Let's Go, although I don't think he will play as much as he should.

Exactly. He isn't the type of player who comes up and immediately rakes. He's in the same category as your Baez types with the high K rate and substandard contact rate. It's going to take them some time to get used to things. He's not a guy like Betts or Soler whose game should transition much easier due to superior plate discipline.

Strikes out a lot, poor contact rate, can't hit lefties, stats inflated by the PCL. I think Dodgers fans are going to be in for a disappointment.

    Baez BB% in AAA 7.8%
    Joc's BB% in AAA 18.1%
    Bett's BB% AA 13.8% AAA 12.3% Majors 10.3%
Soler BB% in limited PA for whatever reason. 15.2% in 79 AA plate appearance most of his career, 13.% in 127 AAA plate appearance's.

Which one do you think has the superior plate discipline.

He was hitting lefties pretty well this year, and in fairness he did drop his K% quite a bit in the 2nd half.
And what about his numbers last year in the southern league? Where they inflated?
