So of course the A's get out of their offensive funk against the Mariners. Another "fatigued" starting pitcher. I had thought we had seen the last of Smoak but there he is. Yuck.

    Tighten it up Lloyd.

Chris Young looks done. He's hasn't thrown this many innings since 2007 and it shows. Coincidence or not the Mariners have looked awful since it was announced that Zduriencik received a multi-year extension.

yea CY looks done. but we've got our $ worth and than some from hi,. after felix, kuma, pax we're going to need some gutty performances and lean on our pen.... but in Sept its common that pitching gets exposed so i don't think we're really in bad shape. offense needs to be better better, was unacceptable today.

a positive is walker got thrown in the 2nd inning vs an angry playoff bound team and was great.

So how concerned are we about Felix's health if he struggles Wednesday? Despite the extra days off, I'm thinking he is tired -- physically and mentally. That streak he had for months must have been draining. Hopefully his "streak-over hangover" will be behind him now

It's hard for me to be too concerned about his physical and mental health. He's human so it's to be expected. But on the other hand, he's been a monster for how many years? At some point, his body will start to wear down but there's not really any reason to believe it's started yet.

Then again, I'm the ultra pessimist when it comes to this team, so I'm not sure why I feel this way.

M's and Paxton shutting down the A's tonight, but the recent series losses to the Phillies, Rangers and Nationals have dampered my enthusiasm.

Hmmm. It's almost as if Young's collapse was foreseen by some around here.
