Giants: The last time the Giants won a game Vogelsong started at AT&T Park? Seven home starts ago, back on May 24. That's despite his 3.22 home ERA, which is 1.21 lower than his road ERA. Overall, they've lost each of his last three starts.

    Scouting Report:
Brewers: Fiers posted a fourth straight stellar start Sunday, allowing only two runs on two Pirates hits over seven innings. In four starts in place of Matt Garza, Fiers has given up 10 hits and four walks in 28 innings, good for a 0.50 WHIP.

Giants: Peavy's August ERA is 2.94, his best month of the season except April (2.87). His WHIP (walks and hits per inning) as a Giant is 1.21 in six starts, an improvement over his 1.43 figure in 20 games with Boston.

    Game 3: Sunday, August 31st @ 1:05 PM

    VS.
    Kyle Lohse..........Madison Bumgarner
    Code:
                                Lohse Bumgarner
                                26 Starts 28
                                12 Wins 15

                                1.19 WHIP 1.09

                                38 BB's 38

    Scouting Report:
Brewers: Lohse skipped a start to get treatment for a right ankle injury and returned from an 11-day layoff with some rust (four walks) but better results (six innings, four hits, one run against). He's 8-5 on the road.

Giants: An overlooked benefit of Bumgarner's sparkling one-hitter last Tuesday against Colorado was that it gave the bullpen some much-needed rest. With four complete games, he has doubled the career total he had entering the season.
