    Jason Parks to Cubs

Jason Parks has left Baseball Prospectus to join the Cubs scouting team.

What is going to be his position specifically? And also what the heck is Ted Lilly doing in our system?

He also has like a HUGE man crush on Alcantara and Baez. Most Cubs fans just crucify any prospect guys if they don't like one of the prospects (Szczur, Lake, etc)
    Thanks JO-MO

Soler's just a really weird one to not like.

If he can justify why he doesn't like Soler, then I'll respect that. It's good to have a wide variety of opinions like this that work for the Cubs.

I'm kind of upset he's leaving BP because I liked his columns and I'm sure there are other good scouts out there. It feels like the Cubs have been pursuing "names" from the scouting and statistical community (they allegedly tried to hire Rany Jazayerli, formerly of BP, before hiring Tom Tango) so I hope that approach works out. They may have the most famous staff in baseball with the addition of Parks now so I hope it's also the most effective.

I mean if you look at what the FO has done in general I dont understand how you think they're just going after people for name value. Every move they've made has been calculated

His justification is that he doesn't have a good approach and doesn't make adjustments that are necessary to be a good hitter.

    So, basically, crazypants.

Maybe they hired him on the condition that he change his stance on Soler
