Dimitri Patterson goes awol for 2 days. RELEASED!

We always have to have some weird crap in the off/pre season. Dude disappears friday, no shows the game, then skips sunday's practice.
Reports say he was healthy and had not been arrested.
If nothing happened that merits this, get rid of him. Yes, our CB scenario is not the best. But I would rather guys be reliable than injured and unreliable.

As Jets fans, we act like this Jet is either taking off to new heights or crashing to the ground. There is never a normal ride with some turbulence.

Clay, feel free to merge. I realized this is already a discussion in the training camp/ pre season thread.

"Be patient, there are months left in free agency."

"Be patient, there's still the draft."

"Be patient, there are roster cuts coming."

    On and on it goes.

Cant wait until this whole story comes out, should be a doozie!

I am trying to be optimistic, really best case scenario is Dee on one side, Walls on the other and Wilson in the slot with literally nobody worth a **** behind them. That is an ugly best case! a trade is our ONLY option, no starting caliber player will be cut at corner, and 1 will not be enough, we need 1 starter level and 1 high level backup IMO to feel good. I REALLY think we can make noise this year, sitting back and working with what we have is not the answer this time

@DWAZ73: Idzik says he thinks current suspension will be "brief," but #Jets will issue further discipline after going over all facts, etc

    something funky happened here

this doesnt sound like a Barret Robbins situation

sounds like they had a disagreement and he walked out

Now I'm not sure the Jets are necessarily in the wrong, but I'd bet they know why he left and the AWOL thing is their media response.

I don't have a link because I heard it on ESPN radio, but when a reporter reached Dmitri for comment he was dismissive and laughed off the AWOL thing

Weird. The reports said his agent was in the dark as well. Either way, I don't know how you can blame the Jets when a player isn't doing what he is contractually obligated to do. It doesn't matter if they had some kind of disagreement, if he's healthy and they want him out there on gameday then he has to be out there.

Why did Dimitri Patterson skip Friday's game? I'm told he's not thrilled with Jets CB pecking order. His injuries dropped him on depth chart

I would think he would be cut if it was a temper tantrum because he sucks and was not playing enough...or do I just hope that?
