Giants: After struggling in his last outing against the Phillies, Hudson's ERA is above 3.00 for the first time this season. Despite his age and taxing start to the season, the 38-year-old has said he's in good shape and still feeling strong.

Nationals: For the third straight start, Sunday against the Pirates, Fister went at least seven innings and surrendered no earned runs. He now sports a 0.64 ERA for August, and his season ERA has dropped to 2.20.

                                58 BB's 24

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Opponents have hit .368 (35-for-95) off Lincecum in his last five starts. He has allowed a Major League-high 10 triples, and he has yielded 10 first-inning runs in his last seven outings.

Nationals: Zimmermann allowed one earned run through his first seven innings during his last start, on Monday against the D-backs, but a two-run homer in the eighth spoiled an otherwise stellar outing. Still, he's 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA in August.

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Vogelsong has received zero runs of support in nine of his 25 starts. He's 5-2 in 12 road appearances despite a 4.38 ERA.

Nationals: Strasburg spun his second straight quality start on Tuesday against the D-backs, allowing one earned run on three hits over eight innings. He also struck out his 198th batter on the season, a career-best total for the right-hander.

Since the Red Sox have a crowded outfield next year with Ces, Victorino, and Castillo and have no room at 1B with Napoli and Ortiz at DH, should the giants look to acquire Allen Craig to play LF next year ? He only turned 30 last month and I believe he has another few years left in him.

THE BEST DH IN SF GIANTS HISTORY!

    2010 and 2012 World Series Champs !
