    Tim Leiweke leaving?

Hearing MLSE president/CEO Tim Leiweke will be leaving the company soon. (1/2)

Not sure of where he's going, but hearing the reason is he is looking for a new challenge.

    From Elliotte Friedman

    Pretty surprising news...something must've happened...

Maybe he realizes that turning the raptors (the only team outside of the u.s) in to a contender is a bigger challenge then he anticipated.

I've heard Leiweke has been eyeing the exit door, just in case. Been reframing expectations for a while. And his family hated the winter.

Makes sense, they have a coach and roster that is much closer to contention.. also to my understanding Tim has a history in L.A.. maybe he didnt enjoy the ice storm this past winter

If the winter seriously had anything to do with it, that is a joke. That winter was the worst one in recent memory. What was it, 2 years ago when it hardly snowed at all and it was a green Christmas?

From one of my favourite writers, Cathal Kelly.

Just talked to Tim Leiweke re: rumours he's leaving MLSE: "It's not true. 100 per cent not true. I'm fully committed to the season at hand."
"To the season"? What about the one after that and the one after that...

its not a joke, when you lived in L.A for a long time. if you were rich and had many options why would you want to live in this ice box. I know i wouldnt.

Yes, but it's still a joke if this is true.

So all this about how they're proving that they can keep players in Toronto, embracing the north -- this is us, this is our city, this is our country #WeTheNorth -- and here's Leiweke and he's the one leading the charge... and he's going to jump ship?

Who the hell wants to work with an organization like the MLSE. When he fired BC, he got grief. He had to sell hard the idea of getting big name players for the TFC. He is use to working with so much freedom in LA. He is an American and he has that swagger. People in MLSE aren't easy to work with because of their massive cooperate egos. Tannenbaum is a pain the rear end to work with. We need a brash guy like TL. I hope he stays.

    Truth.

He'll probably just wait until the season is over then bolt.

Re @FriedgeHNIC reporting Leiweke leaving MLSE been hearing also. This could be a health issue; he's sick of them and they're sick of him. - Steve Simmons
