The new Harbor Center in Buffalo has landed the NHL Combine for at least the next two years. Possibly an upcoming draft as well.

The annual event, which had been held in Toronto since 1999, is overseen by NHL Central Scouting. It brings approximately 100 top prospects for the draft into one place for interviews with NHL teams as well as medical and physical testing. The 2014 Combine featured 119 prospects taking part in five days of interviews and medical exams held at the Westin Bristol Place hotel, followed by fitness testing held nearby at The International Centre.

I guess they want the players focused on hockey and nothing else.

HarborCenter is a hockey-themed mixed-use development under construction in Buffalo, New York. Upon completion, the building will occupy a full 1.7 acre city block formerly known as the Webster Block, directly across from the First Niagara Center and the Erie Canal Harbor or "Canal Side".

The building will contain indoor parking for 750 vehicles, and will feature two indoor ice rinks on the building's seventh floor, one with an 1,800-seat capacity and the other with a 150-seat capacity. IMPACT Sports Performance will operate HarborCenterís 5,000 square foot, high performance off-ice training facility located on the buildings 6th floor.

The building will contain a 205-room full service Marriott International hotel operated by Shaner Hotels, plus retail and restaurant space. The building will contain a two floor 716 Food and Sport restaurant built in design much like Real Sports Bar and Grill in Maple Leaf Square in Toronto. The building will also feature a special one of a kind Tim Horton and Sabres themed Tim Hortons that will pay tribute to Tim Horton, The Sabres and feature displays that will tell the story of the former Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.

The building will also have storefronts along Main Street for smaller tenants which are expected to be leased out.
