    9-1-1 What is your emergency?

911 Operator: 9-1-1 What is your emergency?
Caller: The Detroit Tigers are in second place to the Kansas City Royals.
    911: Is this an emergency?
Caller: We are in second place to KANSAS CITY!
911: Are you sure this is an emergency?
Caller: Yes! I'm dying here! The changes we made from last year are not making us a better team. What can I do?
911: Repeat after me. In DD I trust...In DD I trust...

I want to believe, but it's getting scary.

In DD I trust, the product on the field I do not! I think he did well putting them together for the most part (minus the BP that was a terrible job he did) but they can't performer for whatever reason. Maybe its complacency setting in, maybe its a manager/in house issue, or maybe the supposed leaders on this club (Miggy, JV, Hunter etc) are not being leaders. Who really knows? All we know is that this team sucks right now and has sucked since the All Star Break.

On another note Hunter and V-Mart begged the fans to not boo them after the returned from the horrible road trip... and yet they still put on the **** show they did on the road. That is really infuriating and insulting. I know people who went to the game(s) and said they felt ripped off. Hopefully this ship turns around soon because Comerica isn't gonna be so friendly for the home team soon if this crap keeps up.

Why does the team put us through this **** every year? Every year the Tigers have been good has been hell for the fans. ****, we played a play in wild card game before it was ever official!....AND WE FREAKING LOST!

Big problem with this team is that the Royals have had 2 extremely long hot streak and the Tigers have had 2 extremely long cold streak where everyone is sucking ***. Not a recipe for success. Team doesn't seem to have heart. Maybe that is because Leyland is gone or Ausmus doesn't have what it takes to lead these guys. I have no idea, but this team isn't fun to watch anymore nor interesting to follow. There's just something missing.

I would have dialed 9-1-1 for five EMS Units to haul-off five members of our bullpen.
The something that's missing is bullpen success.

The Tigers have been a stars and scrubs team for the last few years. The stars have performed well enough to get to the post season, but have not been able to win a World Series. JV has had a bad year. Miggy, while it is hard to blame him, hasn't had his typical MVP numbers. Sanchez is out. Our SS of the future has missed the entire season. We picked up an over-priced and over-the-hill Joe Nathan to be our closer and we can't seem to do anything to remedy the situation. I would suspect he is not a locker room favorite.

With the stars not shining like they have in the past, the weaknesses of this team are magnified. A combination of several things need to fall into place to make it to the WS. Not sure it's going to happen.

Good thing we got rid of Fister this year. He's really been struggling since the All-Star break.

Yeah, Dougie has numbers that look like Cy Young numbers. He's having his best year. I knew he would dominate the NL. He's gonna have a really good next few years if he stays in Washington.

Yeah, I never really understood that trade. Kind of a head-scratcher.

Information at the time of the trade:

The Tigers figure to save about $6 million by trading Fister, who was arbitration-eligible and projected to earn about $7 million. But Dombrowski said the trade was not done to save money in hopes of keeping Scherzer beyond next season.

"It gives us some flexibility for some other things we want to do," he said on a conference call.

If you knew the inside ropes of team ownership money tranfer-freezes and playing Tiger GM with a tight budget, then you could grasp why the trade occurred.

Fans have no idea what a back-pocket trade looks like. Fans also have no idea on how/why GMs sometimes need to work on windows beyond the current upcoming season. That would be in reference to Dombrowski's window ....circa last winter.

Just try to imagine operating with and looking out 2-3 windows at the same time. One is marked 2014 - next 2015 - 3rd one marked 2016.
